In 2019, Coach McLean had the opportunity to take his coaching to Beijing, China in preparation for the 2022 Winter Olympics as part of a development program. He has started and maintained his own successful hockey training program while also holding positions as Varsity head coach and Travel hockey head coach for local teams in Dallas.
Coach McLean's coaching theory is Hard Work + Fun = Product/Success.
Instilling life skills and dedication on and off the ice with his players, Coach McLean strives to create balance with hard work and fun every time they show up at the rink. His practices and training sessions are very fast-tempo and always cover the systems of the game at a high impact speed.
Coach McLean's hockey program will cover everything from conditioning, shooting and passing and positioning to puck skills, over-speed training, quick feet, and power skating.
Along with dedication and attention to instruction, Coach McLean expects his players to be in top physical condition so they can compete in any game situation when they step on the ice. He wants to ensure maximum player participation and create a higher quality and quantity of repetitions for optimal skill development.
